Happy Friendship Day

हम बस में बैठ कर कहीं जा रहे थे।

सफर लम्बा था, इसलिए आपस में, थे तोे अजनबी

पर बतिया रहे थे।।

बात-बात में ही वह सज्जन खिसिया के बोले।

कमाल है आज की पीढ़ी नये-नये तरीके अपना रही है।।

मां-बाप तो ठीक है पर फालतू में ही friendship day

मना रही हैं।

मां-बाप तो सब कुछ करते हैं।

पर यह बेकार ही में दोस्तों का दिन मना रहे हैं।।

हम मुस्कराए, और प्यार से बोले।

घर इंसान की सबसे सुरक्षित जगह है।

जहां मां का प्यार है। वह सब से बचाती भी है।

बाप है जो गलती पर डांटते और सही राह दिखाते भी है।

बहन है जो अपना सब कुछ न्यौछावर करती है।

भाई है जो अपने से पहले आपका सोचता है।

पर घर से बाहर स्कूल में, कालेज में, या आफिस में कौन है जो आपका साथ देता है।

वो है दोस्त।

जो आपके मां-बाप, भाई-बहन सबकी अकेले duty बजाता है।

जब आप अकेले हो तो आपको अपना साथ देता है।

कभी आप उदास हो आपको हंसाता है।

नये-नये, अजीब-अजीब पर मजेदार solution

आपको बताता है। उसके साथ हंसी-मजाक में कब समय

बीत जाता है पता नहीं चलता।

उससे आप वो भी बात कर पाते हो जो किसी से नहीं हो पाती।

हर परेशानी का funny सा हल निकालता है दोस्त।

आपके चेहरे पर मुस्कान बनाये रखता है वो दोस्त।

बिछड़ने पर अच्छी यादें छोड़ जाता है वो दोस्त।

 तो आप ही बताइए क्या वह एक दिन deserve नहीं करता

वो दोस्त।

बात हमारी सुनकर वह सज्जन मुस्करा गए।

फोन निकाला जेब से सभी अपने दोस्तों को Happy Friendship Day का message चिपका गये।।

कमाल तो तब हुआ जब उतरे वह बस से।

तो आए हमारी खिड़की पर और Happy Friendship Day चिल्ला गए।

IN ENGLISH 

We sat on a bus, heading somewhere far,

Strangers at first, yet talking under the stars.

The journey was long, the silence wouldn't stay,

So we chatted softly to pass the way.

In the midst of words, a man gave a sigh,

"This generation," he said, "oh my, oh my!

They celebrate Friendship Day, how strange it seems,

Parents do so much — this feels like a dream."

"They honor friends for no real cause,

Forget the ones who deserve applause.

Parents raise them, care with all their might,

And yet, it's 'Friendship Day'? That just ain't right!"

I smiled and said, in a gentle tone,

"Home is safe, it's love’s own throne.

A mother’s care shields from every fear,

A father guides, both firm and dear.

A sister gives all, with heart so wide,

A brother stands right by your side.

But step outside — to school or work,

Who’s there with you when troubles lurk?

It’s your friend — the unsung guide,

Who stands with you when none abide.

They cheer you up when you feel down,

With silly jokes, they fix your frown.

They listen to things you can’t tell all,

They pick you up when you nearly fall.

Time just flies when you laugh and play,

They brighten your dullest, darkest day.

So tell me, truly, in your heart so deep,

Doesn’t one day for a friend seem sweet?

A friend who stays, who brings you light,

Who makes your lonely moments bright?"

The man then smiled, his heart now warm,

Took out his phone, breaking old norms.

He messaged his friends, "Happy Friendship Day!"

And joined in the joy in a brand-new way.

But the best part came as he left the bus —

He turned to us with a cheerful fuss.

Came to our window, grinning away,

And shouted aloud — "Happy Friendship Day!"
